Our Drama program is offered as an elective for students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. These students learn many aspects of theater arts, and work diligently toward a large scale performance for our school community. Our schools plays in recent years have included The Wizard of Oz, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Snow White, Robin Hood, among many other children's literature titles. In addition to our school play, the students have the opportunity to compete at the ACSI Junior High Speech Meet. This competition, which hosts many other Christian schools locally around the Midwest, allows students to perform in the areas of Humorous Poetry, Dramatic Monologue, Humorous Monologue, Patriotic Oration, and many more. Over the last 10 years, we have had several of our Drama students receive the highest awards at this competition. Students in 1st through 5th grade also have the opportunity to participate in the ACSI Elementary Speech as well. This competition is to encourage and develop students to challenge themselves if they feel gifted or talented in speaking or performing in front of others.
