Varsity Girls Player Reflection Article
When I first heard I made the basketball team I was shocked. I didn't have any confidence that I was going to make it. Then I realized that maybe if I really try to do my best, I would be better. After awhile, I started to get the hang of it. I realized that basketball was one of my most favorite sports to play. It’s tiring, but it helps you to become more balanced, have better sportsmanship, and make new friends. At first I thought I was going to have a mean coach who yells at me and makes me do drills that I don’t even need to do. Then I found out my coach was Mr. Taccad and the assistant coach was Mr. Smith, my teacher. (weird) They both turned out to be awesome coaches.
I remember that the game at Brentwood Baptist was my best game. The starting center didn’t go to the game, and that meant that I was going to be a starter. I was so excited to be a starter, but it also meant that I had to step up my game. I was glad that it was a small court because I would not have to run far. I felt great when I stuffed a girl since I had never done that in a game before. It was also that day that I first fouled someone in the game. People had been telling me to be more aggressive in the game, so it felt good to get that out of the way. Even though we lost, I was still proud of myself and my teammates. I certainly would not have made it this far without them. I am so grateful to have wonderful teammates. Thank you for everything!
