First Shot

          Tatiana dribbled up the court while Judith screened the opponent. She rushed past all the players and threw a sling shot pass to me. I grabbed it, placed myself, and shot the basket. SCORE!!!!!!!! At that moment I had realized that I made the very first basket of the season. The thrill pumped inside of me. Though I was excited I held it all in. I knew we were going to have a great game! And we sure did. The score was 32 to 24, but those points weren’t just from me. The majority of our baskets were made by our  one and only point guard Tatiana Lopez and Joi Stack- the “ferocious forward”. These teammates have made a huge impact on all of our games as well as all the other players on our team. One player that really stands out to me is Candis, who is the back up center for me. she is in 6^th grade playing up against 8^th graders. But that doesn’t seem to hold her back. Candis is always giving each game her all. And continues to progress more and more at practices. The most important thing is that she always has a positive attitude about everything, and never complains about the coaches decisions. I would definitely say she is one of the people I look up to. As well as my coaches Mr. Taccad and Mr. Smith. I speak for all the girls when I say that they have  been a great encouragement  in our lives. All the 8^th graders, including me, have had a fun time interacting with each other and are going to miss playing basketball at MCA.
